Extract from the National Library of Scotland 72.i.7, fol.XIb, col.i, lines 12 to 38. This extract is headed 'Dubfocail and so', and appears to be a list of words in old or middle Gaellic, with translations given in an antiquated spelling of modern Scottish Gaelic (and definitely not contemporary spelling of modern Scottish Gaelic around the turn of the 20th century).
'Gaelic poetry of the Revolution of 1688', Late 19th or early 20th century
This is a discussion and description of a collection of manuscripts that contain popular Scottish Gaelic poetry, composed by Duncan McRae between 1688 and 1693. Mackinnon (who presumably wrote this discussion) claims that this is the first account of this poetry. There are examples of McRae's poetry in the notebook.

This appears to be a notebook in which Mackinnon has cut printed extracts of Ossianic poetry from other sources, and inserted them into this notebook. There are some handwritten notes alongside some of the printed extracts, which may be in preparation for study or discussion of the Ossianic poetry.

This appears to be a notebook perhaps used for teaching and researching. It contains a list of words found in manuscripts, along with their modern Scottish Gaelic word, and sometimes a translation or explanation in English.

Mackinnon appears to have compiled his own catalogue of Gaelic manuscripts contained in Advocates' Library in Edinburgh. This first part of the notebook contains his observations.
In the reverse and inverted side, Mackinnon has made notes in both English and Gaelic about authors and their work, who appear in medieval Gaelic manuscripts.

Preparation for Reid's 'Bibliotheca Scoto-Celtica', 1783-1865
These appear to be sheets sent to contributors to Reid's Biblotheca Scoto-Celtica in order to compile information about the books in contributors' possession. The 'Bibliotheca Scoto-Celtica' was published in Edinburgh in 1915.

Printed booklet in Gaelic entitled Dearbhadh A' Chridhe. Laoidhean spioradail ('The Description of the Heart. Spiritual hymns'), by Gilleasbuig Spioradail/Archibald MacMillan, from the Isle of Arran. It contains poems in Gaelic, inspired by his mistreatment by the parochial officials of the parish of Kilmorry. Also includes an introduction by the author in English, as well as titles and biblical extracts.

This appears to have been a textbook for undergraduates studying Gaelic in the 19th century. It appears to be reading material, mainly prose. The book is interspersed with handwritten notes and translations of words.
'The Gaelic version of the Thebaid of Statius', Late 19th or early 20th century
This is a transcription of the Gaelic version of the Latin poem by Statius, 'Thebaid'. The manuscript NLS.72.1.8,ff-28 is held at the National Library of Scotland. It is suggested on page 195 that this manuscript is based on an old French translation of the original Latin text.
